Dr Darren Bowring PhD Msc MEd BA(Hons)
Darren founded ABA Behaviour Solutions in 2011 and has over 25 years experience in the field of Behaviour Analysis. He has a PhD in Psychology and holds two Masters degrees - Applied Behaviour Analysis (University of Bangor) and Emotional and Behavioural Disorders (University of Birmingham). He also holds a degree in Sociology (University of York) and an Advanced Certificate in Emotional and Behavioural Disorders (Christchurch College, Kent).
Darren began his career in the USA working for charities supporting children affiliated to gangs. On returning to the UK he worked in education settings with young people with emotional and behavioural problems. He moved to Jersey in 2003 to work as a Senior Behaviour Analyst for the States of Jersey where he won a quality award and two achievement awards. He is also a Positive Behaviour Support Consultant for the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD). He has presented at several international conferences and had a number of papers published. Darren won Early Career Researcher of the year 2018 at the International Positive Behaviour Support Conference. Darren is a member of the Sharland Foundation Developmental Disabilities ABA Research and Impact Group. Darren is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for Educational Development, Appraisal and Research (CEDAR), University of Warwick.
Darren has extensive experience working with Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, Communication Disorders and a range of health issues including anxiety, depression and anger management. He has extensive knowledge in the application of Positive Behaviour Support, Applied Behaviour Analysis and associated behavioural approaches. Darren is currently Associate Director of Mental Health and Wellbeing for the Government of Jersey. Darren is an experienced and highly regarded trainer, consultant and behaviour analyst. Draren is a member of the UK Society of Behaviour Analysis (UKSBA).
